The original homestead of the Mill Creek Valley is now a tranquil holiday retreat, offering comfortable, self--catering family accommodation secluded amongst extensive gardens and lavender plantings, with a private swimming hole in the river that flows just below the gardens.

The home is completely private, but if you need help with anything, we are just across the quiet, private farm road. We are an easy 15 minute drive from Whitianga, just 25 minutes to Hahei or Hot Water Beach, and with the Mill Creek Bird and Animal Park only a 5 minute walk away.

This traditional New Zealand farmhouse, which can accommodate a family of five, is spacious and sunny, with large covered deck and verandah, and easy flow out to the large, rambling garden. The lavender garden, which used to be open to the public, and was featured in the July 2005 issue of NZ House and Garden, is now there for your exclusive enjoyment.

The peak flowering time for the lavender is December and January - imagine that at Christmas time! You'll love it here - go skinny dipping in the river and nobody will be any the wiser! When you arrive you'll find the all the beds made up and ready for you, fresh towels laid out, milk in the fridge, and a selection of teas and coffee.
